BEHIND THE CANVAS: Who needs inspiration when these gems are growing in the backyard.Admittedly, during the earlier part of the growing season, I didn't pay too much attention to these plants. It's not until the eggplants  took on a fuller shape, and  the bright sunlighting casting those great shadows ,did I realize that there was a painting somewhwere in those bushes.The following morning I painted, and subsequently that evening I enjoyed a delicious eggplant parmesan dinner.

NOTE: What to paint has probably plagued all artists at one time or another,but strangely enough there are potential subjects everywhere,and as close as your back yard.I've learned my lesson from doing this piece.I'ts not what you paint that's important,but how you paint.
