BEHIND THE CANVAS: It's interesting what inspires a particular piece and this is no exception. Well,"ART" is where  you find it and that's exactly what happened here. In reality this a section of corrugated cardboard packing material that I had found adjacent to a railroad yard many years ago. I photographed it because it had some unusual and dynamic shapes within the section. I didn't work on this painting until the summer of 2002. As you can see from the different perspectives it is a very versatile piece. If you are a decorator take note, several of these pieces in concert  would provide some interesting  possibilities.

NOTE:The true color of the carboard was a washed out tan. The dominant red and black colors that I chose were really just my personal choice. Any color combination with strong contrasting values would work.What do you think? Drop me a line and we'll talk.
